October Half Term Assignment

The main priority is catching up on missing work. Too many pieces were not completed to a good standard.

From now on, everything counts towards your grade. Would you prefer six months on coursework or two hours in an exam hall? Both carry the same weight.

Task: plan to recreate a continuity sequence from a real media text.

Example offered: in groups of six, you will recreate the following scene on your first lesson back.

From 0:03 to 0:54.   < Less than one minute.

You will need:

  • Script
  • Storyboard
  • Basic props
  • Location
  • Allocated roles
  • Patience

Success Criteria:

This task needs to be shot for shot, close to the original as possible.  You have to get camera shots, angles and pace as accurate as possible.

Reflection:  Why have I done this?
When you post your end product on the blog, you will need to talk through the processes you went with (contextual description for moderator) and explain what you learnt.  You should address your own WWW and EBI to all of your work.

Welcome Year 12 - Thinking about blogging

Creating a blog for your Media AS Coursework

One of the first things you will need to do at the start of the year is create a blog account.

We will use this to keep an online record of all your research and planning linked to film openings, and eventually you will use it to demonstrate progress of your coursework from an initial idea to fully realised film opening by distributing your film opening online.  Lastly, you will create an in-depth evaluation justifying all of your decisions and getting feedback from a real audience.

There are a number of blog platforms you can use.  Last year, students used WIX, Weebly or blogger (the same format I am using).

www.wix.com

www.weebly.com

www.blogger.com

It is important that you look at a range of blog hubs from past students and see what each website is capable of before deciding, but you will need to decide by next week as we start our research pretty much straight away.

Any questions please address them in class or to me directly.

G321 Moderation Sample - 10571 - Foundation Portfolio - June 2016 Series

Dear Moderator

Please find blog links to the work of students below.  I have grouped them by partners if they are together in the sample and also highlighted how many were in the group.

There was no set genre and students have all spent time personalising their blogs.  I hope you enjoy looking at their work.

Regards,

Bridge Media Team
